Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced the launch of Indira Rasoi Yojana on 22 June 2020. The scheme is based on the lines of the Amma Rasoi scheme of Tamil Nadu. Inaugurating the scheme, the Chief Minister said that no one will be hungry anymore.

Amma Rasoi Yojana was launched during the time of former Chief Minister late Jayalalitha. This scheme has been running successfully in Tamil Nadu for many years. Under the Amma Rasoi Yojana in Tamil Nadu, food is being provided to the needy at affordable rates throughout the state. In view of the popularity of this scheme in Tamil Nadu, many states studied its model.
Aahaar Yojana of Odisha
Under Aahaar Yojana, the Government of Odisha provides food to poor and needy people for 5 rupees. This scheme made the Odisha government very popular. The Government of Odisha says that it is providing food of Rs 15-20 for only 5 rupees.
